White supremacy isn’t the shark. It’s the water. Kyle “Guante” Tran Myhre
In the wake of the horrific assault perpetrated on innocent, hard working, loving, community supporting, Black people in Buffalo recently, I’m reminded to keep my eyes open to reality. Unfortunately, racial acculturation will have many white people focus solely upon that despicable murderous white supremacist, without examining their own way of acting and thinking.
Without asking ourselves, ‘How has my racial acculturation groomed me to be a conspirator in this society?’, there is no real learning, let alone changing. Keeping our focus on the criminal actions of the violent and hateful extremists may make us erroneously believe that the problem is out there.
White people, the problem lies within each and every one of us.
