Glazing update

So this morning I was talking to another long-time ceramic artist, Rena, who suggested that I stick with the commercial glazes. Her input was based upon cost/outcome. Since I’m a one woman show at this point and not working as a production potter, she felt it would be not cost effective to start making a series of glazes that would provide the variety that I need, since the start-up cost of purchasing the chemistry and testing the glaze recipes would be time consuming and quickly empty my pockets.

I’m rethinking the home-made vs commercial decision some more. To be continued…
